Which football agents represent football's biggest names? We looked for players who finished in the top eight in last season's Premier League and top four in Ligue 1, Serie A, Bundesliga and La Liga.

Never have so many been looked after by so few.

A Telegraph Sport investigation into football agents in Europe has revealed the biggest players in the market when it comes to looking after the best players at the top clubs.

Leading the way is Jonathan Barnett, of Stellar Group, who masterminded Gareth Bale's £86million move from Tottenham Hotspur to Real Madrid. Barnett has a number of Premier League players on his books including Joe Hart, Luke Shaw and Glen Johnson, as well as Roma left-back Ashley Cole.

Matching Barnett's tally of 13 players among the big European clubs is Jorge Mendes of Gestifute, who has been involved in some of the biggest transfer deals of all time including Cristiano Ronaldo's £80million move from Manchester United to Real Madrid, James Rodriguez's £63million switch from Monaco to Real Madrid and Angel Di Maria £60million move from the Spanish giants to United.

Mondial Promotions has a big chunk of the French market, with players including Raphael Varane, Olivier Giroud, Yohan Cabaye and Mathieu Debuchy on the books.

Jose Otin at Bahia International has a similar grip over Spanish players, while SportsTotal's Volker Struth dominates the German market.

Some of the big-name players to use family members as their agents include Lionel Messi, Arjen Robben, Neymar and Juan Mata. Eden Hazard, meanwhile, is currently operating without any sort of agent at all.
